I wish I was told personally via mail or something first before being
listed publically as a disk-space hogger, then I wouldn't feel obliged
to justify myself to you all. It so happens that I'm working on porting
Nethack Plus to Unix, and didn't realise how much space was taking up
having both the old and new versions simultaneously.
Now that I've been notified of the problem I did my bit and deleted the
old version yesterday, along with some other things I wasn't using
immediately. It brought my usage by half, down from 50Mb to 25. I just
did a "df" now to check how much of a difference it made, and found
this:
Filesystem kbytes used avail capacity Mounted on
/dev/xd1g 818627 719762 17003 98% /xd1g
There's less space available today than the amount I actually released
to the system yesterday! So much for doing one's bit.
BTW, if anyone cares to playtest NetHack Plus for me, just run
/home/dbugger/bin/nethack :)
