} Well, for a start, AARNET is going to charge universities around $500 a Gig
} for *international* traffic. There will be no charges for national traffic.
Which kinda makes me wonder... how the hell is AARNet going to apportion
charges for newsfeeds, given that almost every connected site in Oz
receives it, but it only comes in through one or two points? Will they
end up charging themselves for it?
Of course, AARNet is already volume charging service providers, and has
been for some months now. Microplex tells me they expect to pay AARNet
over $100,000 next year in international charges. Isn't that almost as
expensive as leasing your own overseas line?
