There is a little program called 50.com on some bbs, maybe somehwere else
that changes your screen to 50 lines in plain DOS or in a dos session in
windows. Once you increase the number of lines to 50 you cannot go back.
In windows you simply kill the dos session and start another one, not
very nice.
