I don't know where this FTP rumour came from -- all that's certain
is that there was commercial, copyright software in the account.
It's not clear exactly were it came from (though we can all make
guesses) and there is no evidence of it being knowingly redistributed.

As for reporting to the event to Business Software Association (or
whoever they're called), I really don't think they're interested
in prosecuting J. Random student for downloading games. If you feel
particularly righteous about it, then by all means go ahead and
contact them. I will make myself available to answer any questions
but I think we could all spend all our time doing something more
constructive.
