Neither is neccessarily simpler to use than the other. Both have a
variety of different features and drawbacks. In both cases, you have to
learn to drive the tool before it is easy to use. In both cases, they are
loaded with features for "power-users".

It comes down to which you actually spend more time learning.

Some of us learnt tin first, others nn, some poor souls rn.

The choice of default newsreader should ultimately depend upon the
available support - if the persons available to give support are happier
supporting tin, then make tin the default - if nn, nn - if rn, well,
rn I guess.
