The working group has solicited comments on IPng which are appearing as
RFC's at the moment. These range from input by prospective users (a
consortium of mobile-digital vendors for example) to issues such as
IPv4 -> IPv6 transition, security and so on. They are worth a look at,
especially because of the diversity of groups making an input.
In parallel, the IPSEC working group is looking at providing security
encapsulation for v4 and v6. They've just come to a consensus on
frame formats, and a working engine for swIPe (one of the contenders)
was only recently released -- Sun only [it has no authentication and
key management framework, so can't be scaled up above experimental].
I think big-internet@nospam.munnari.oz.au is the mailing list for the IPng
working group, but I don't follow it.
Matthew.
