Acceptable Usage Policy for Users of
Programmers' Society Machines
DRAFT - 16/5/94
I will respect the privacy of other users. I will not endeavour to
gain access to another user's account and/or password.
I will not access, alter or delete data owned by another user
without their explicit permission to do so. This includes the
renaming, altering, deleting, overwriting or adding of any data
contained within another user's home directory or mail spool
I will be considerate to other users of the system. I'm will not
harasss or impede other users and will attempt to be fair in my
usage of system resources.
I will abide by the usage policies of any machines or networks
that Programmers' Society machines are connected to. I will not
use any Programmers' Society machine or facilities to gain
unauthorised access to other machines or networks.
I will not store material on any Programmers' Society machine
without the expressed or implied permission from the holder of
the copyright of the material.
I understand that I am wholly responsible for any data that I
store on any Programmers' Society machine.
I understand that if I break any of the above conditions I am at
the mercy of the Programmers' Society and will be liable to have
my any Programmers' Society account locked or deleted, or be
forever barred from Programmers' Society equipment,
depending on the severity of breach and the whim of the
Programmers' Society executives.
I agree to keep myself aware of and abide by future revisions to
this policy. I understand that from time to time further directives
may be made regarding the use of Programmers' Society
system resources, including CPU time and disk space, and that
such directives may vary over time and may be different for
each Programmers' Society member.
