Francis Liu, welcome to Hell. If it isn't on your system already you have
got a long haul ahead of you. You will be ftping for days, compiling,
configuring, shouting "Why can't it find the fonts?! I told them where
they were!!"
If it is on the system just say tex filename. If it works, which it won't,
you will get filename.dvi. You can view this using xdvi. And you can
convert it to postscript using dvips.
Read the tex groups. Post more specific questions to progsoc as there are
several people on the list who know quite a bit about it.
